Brillion Public Library


Summer Library Program

Open to all youth preschool through Kindergarten age. Programs last approximately 30 minutes and consist of a variety of stories, songs, fingerplays, crafts and other activities. Join us on either Mondays at 6:30 p.m. or Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m.

Summer Reading Programs
(June 10-August 2)

The library provides reading programs for all ages! Keep track of the minutes you spend reading (in addition to other activities listed in weekly reading logs for youth) for weekly prizes and the chance to enter prize drawings. Sign up online or in the library starting May 20. Please see below for reading logs for each age group or stop by the library. Participants may start submitting reading logs on June 10.

Fang's Reading Club
Sign up for the Timber Rattler’s reading program, read one hour per week for four weeks, and receive prizes for each week. Register at the library to join the program and receive the materials. The final prize is a complimentary ticket and a hot dog and soda voucher for the game on August 11th 1:05 p.m.

Trail Tales
Take a walk in the great outdoors at Brillion Nature Center and read two children’s books along the way! This year’s books are In the Small, Small Pond and I Don’t Want to Be a Frog! The books will be posted from June 1 through June 30. The trails start from the main parking lot. Trail Tails is offered in partnership with Brillion Nature Center and is sponsored by the Friends of the Brillion Public Library.

Person of the Universe
Each week, a photo of a person from the field of astronomy is posted and 3 clues are hidden around the library. Identify the individual to be entered into a drawing for a weekly prize!

Day Camp
Day camp is for youth in grades 3-6 and meets July 29-August 1 from 1-4 p.m.  Registration is required, and space is limited! You may register here, but you still have to submit a signed registration form, which is available below.

Apollo Escape Room
Your mission: solve the puzzles and escape from this Apollo program-inspired escape room. This family program is for all ages, though children under age 10 must be with an adult. Registration is required and opens May 28 for the programs on June 11 & June 13. Registration for the July 16 & July 18 programs is required and opens June 17. Call the library at 756-3215 to register. Programs will be scheduled in the afternoon and evening.

Battle of the Books
Open to youth in grades 7-12. Each year, a team of Brillion youth participates in a Battle of the Books competition sponsored by the Manitowoc-Calumet Library System. Youth are given the titles at the beginning of the summer, and coaches work with the youth on the books. Titles for this year's battle are

The first team meeting is Monday, June 10 at 6:00 PM. This year's battle is Wednesday, September 4 at 6:30 pm at Silver Lake College Generose Enrichment Center in Manitowoc. Please contact the library if you are interested or have any questions.
