Brillion Public Library

Summer Library Program

Story time will be offered on the library lawn starting June 15th on Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m.

Summer Reading Programs
(June 14-July 30)

The library provides reading programs for all ages, and this year we're using a digital program called Beanstack! (Don't worry, paper forms are still an option and are posted below!) Keep track of the minutes you spend reading (in addition to other optional activities) for weekly prizes and the chance to enter prize drawings. We'll keep track of the weekly prizes and award them all at the end of the program. Registration (and the program) begins on June 7. Click here to register.

Trail Tales
Take a walk in the great outdoors at Brillion Nature Center and read two children’s books along the way! Right now the trails feature the books are Water is Water by Miranda Paul and The Couch Potato by Jory John. The books will be posted until July 27. The trails start from the main parking lot. Trail Tails is offered in partnership with Brillion Nature Center and is sponsored by an ALA grant.

Battle of the Books
Open to youth in grades 7-12. Each year, a team of Brillion youth participates in a Battle of the Books competition sponsored by the Manitowoc-Calumet Library System. Youth are given the titles at the beginning of the summer, and coaches work with the youth on the books. Titles for this year's battle are
Folding Tech: Using Origami and Nature to Revolutionize Technology by Karen Latchana Kenney
Burn by Patrick Ness
Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky by Kwame Mbalia
Kent State by Deborah Wiles
Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall
Don't Read the Comments by Eric Smith
Savage Beard of the She Dwarf by Kyle Latino
Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

The team will be meeting either virtually or in person this summer to prepare for the battle. Please contact the library if you are interested or have any questions.
