Library Programs

The Library is much more than simply a provider of books. We pride ourselves in paying close attention to our patron's needs. Because of this commitment, the Brillion Public Library is a dynamic, interactive place to learn, to discover, and to explore. No matter what your age or interest, we have a program that is just right for you.
Storytime dance


Story Time 
Open to all youth preschool through Kindergarten age. Programs last between 30 and 45 minutes and consist of a variety of stories, songs, fingerplays, crafts and other activities. Join us on either Mondays at 6:30 p.m. or Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m.

After School Experiments, Jr.
This STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering and Math) program isfor children in grades 1-3 and typically meets the first Tuesday of the month at 3:30 p.m. from September through May.

After School Experiments
This STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering and Math) program is for children in grades 4-6 and typically meets the second Tuesday of the month at 3:30 p.m. from September through May.
1000 books logo





1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Parents are invited to sign up their young children for the 1000 books program. The goal of this program is for a child to have at least 1000 books read to them before they start Kindergarten. To help parents reach this goal, the Library invites parents to sign up and receive materials to track their progress. Children receive small incentives along the way.  Please stop into the library to sign up.
Robot Time
Children are invited to experiment with our meepers, Dot and Dash, and robots during Robot Time. Please check our newsletter, calendar, weekly news, or Facebook for  current program dates.

Coding Club
Brillion Public Library holds a monthly coding club that typically meets the third Tuesday of the month at 3:30 p.m.  Youth in second grade and older are invited to be a part of this activity.

Tween Book Talking
This book discussion group is for youth in grades 4-6 and typically meets the third Thursday of the month at 3:30 p.m. Copies of the book are furnished by the library.

Teen Book Talking
This book discussion group is for teens in grades 7-12 and typically meets the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Copies of the book are furnished by the library.

Battle of the Books
Open to youth in grades 7-12. Each year, a team of Brillion youth participates in a Battle of the Books competition sponsored by the Manitowoc-Calumet Library System. Youth are given the titles at the beginning of the summer, and coaches work with the youth on the books. The battle is held in early September.

Book Talking
Discussion groups meet once a month on a Tuesday (usually the 4th Tuesday of the month) at 1:30 p.m. Copies of the book are furnished by the library.  Discussion on the same book takes place on the following Thursday at West Haven at 1:30.
 
Book Talking After Dark
This book discussion group for adults meet once a month on a Thursday (usually the 1st Thursday of the month) at 6:30 p.m. Copies of the book are furnished by the library.

Genealogy
The Library hosts a quarterly Genealogy session. Programs take place on the first Wednesday of the month (March/June/September/December) at 1:30 p.m. This program is open to anyone interested in genealogy, family history or local history. Anyone with an interest in Genealogy can be a part of the library’s genealogy email list. Receive information of genealogy related topics. Sign up at the library or send an email to brref@mcls.lib.wi.us  expressing your interest in genealogy.

Internet and Computer Exploration Classes  & Devices Time
The library offers basic computer and Internet classes throughout the year.  In addition, you may bring your personal device and receive one-on-one assistance, including help accessing the Wisconsin's Digital Library to download books and audiobooks.  Please check our newsletter, calendar, weekly news, or Facebook for  current program dates.

Displays!
The Library offers the public the opportunity to put a display in the library’s display case for a one month period. If you are interested in putting up a display, contact the library.

Summer Library Program
The Library provides a summer library program for the whole family. The program features reading programs for all ages. The library also offers weekly storytimes, family programs and programs for select age groups during the summer.  Click here for more info.

Timber Rattler Read Program
This program is open to Kindergarten youth through grade 6. Youth read for 4 weeks and earn a ticket to a special Timber Rattler game in August. The program runs concurrently with the summer reading program.
